Pertamina’s Commitment to Encouraging Sustainable Development Brings Home Seven Sustainable Marketing Excellence Awards 2023

Jakarta, July 13, 2023 - As a state-owned enterprise, PT Pertamina (Persero) and its subsidiaries continuously stirive to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This commitment has led Pertamina to win seven Sustainable Marketing Excellence Awards organized by Marketeers in Jakarta on Wednesday, July 12, 2023.

These awards were presented to Pertamina for its role as an energy state-owned enterprise actively contributing to realizing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030. Pertamina was also acknowledged for its significant role in empowering communities and preserving the environment sustainably for future generations through various Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) programs.

One of the award-winning CSRE programs is the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) development carried out by Pertamina through the UMK (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) Academy program. This structured, step-by-step and integrated program includes the Go Modern, Go Digital, Go Online, and Go Global curricula. Notably, the program incorporates Go Green elements to encourage environmentally oriented business practices among MSMEs, such as eco-friendly raw materials and packaging utilization, waste management, sustainable production optimization, and more.

Simultaneously, the Integrated Farming System Program at Pertamina Hulu Rokan, Sumatera Region, Zone 4, Limau Field, implemented in Air Talas Village, South Sumatera, has successfully empowered self-sufficient and resourceful communities through agribusiness-based creative economies development. Through this program, Pertamina has empowered farmers by adding value to their agricultural produce.

Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Fadjar Djoko Santoso, stated that as an energy company, Pertamina is committed to providing national energy and encouraging all stakeholders to be responsible in the production and utilization processes to ensure sustainability.

"Pertamina has set six priority SDGs, consistently implemented throughout the company's business lines," said Fadjar.

Fadjar further added that Pertamina's six priority SDGs include Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production; Goal 13: Climate Action; Goal 14: Life Below Water; Goal 15: Life on Land; Goal 7: Affordable and Clean Energy; and Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth.

"In line with our sustainability commitment, Pertamina implements the TJSL program based on ISO 26000 and following the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles," added Fadjar.

CEO of Marketeer, Iwan Setiawan, congratulated Pertamina for successfully receiving the awards. "Congratulations to all the companies that have received these awards. This recognition is a result of their efforts in promoting sustainability," he said.

6. Pertamina Hulu Energi Jambi Merang - Womenpreneur Empowerment of the Year category
7. PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk - Sustainable Corporate Action of the Year category.
