Jakarta, September 25, 2024 – Pertamina's commitment and dedication, through its subsidiary Pertamina Patra Niaga, to fulfilling the government's mandate for the One Price Fuel (BBM Satu Harga) program has been recognized by the Project Management Institute (PMI), a leading and largest professional association in the project management field. The recognition was given during the PMI Global Summit 2024 in Los Angeles, California, USA, from September 18-21, 2024.
The recognition came with two awards: the 2024 PMI Social Project Award and the most prestigious honor, the 2024 PMI Project of the Year Award, which defeated hundreds of world-class corporate project nominations. This is the first time a company from Asia has won the Project of the Year award since its inception in 2010.
Nicke Widyawati, President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero), explained the One Price Fuel program as part of Pertamina's commitment to supporting the nation’s economic growth.
"This award is proof of Pertamina's commitment to providing the best service to the public, based on international project management standards from planning, execution, and project closing to operations. The One Price Fuel program is not just about fuel distribution but also an effort to support regional economic growth and improve public welfare," Nicke explained.
Meanwhile, the President Director of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Riva Siahaan, expressed his appreciation to all parties who have worked to realize the One Price Fuel program, which now covers 535 points across the Frontier, Outermost, and Disadvantaged (3T) regions, from Aceh to Papua.
"This success is due to the hard work of the entire internal team and the government's support through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and BPH Migas. We are committed to expanding this program’s reach according to the government's target, aiming to achieve equitable energy access across Indonesia," said Riva.
With this program, all Indonesians can enjoy the same price for subsidized fuel, which successfully drives the economic engines in 3T regions.
"This is not an easy task, considering the challenging geographic conditions in 3T regions. We have employed various modes of transportation, from tanker trucks to wooden ships and even small airplanes, to ensure subsidized fuel reaches the farthest corners of the country. We are proud to carry out this government mandate successfully and to receive international recognition," Riva added.
In winning the 2024 PMI Project of the Year Award, Pertamina faced stiff competition from the Advanced Trade & Logistic Platform: Transforming Trade Facilitation project in Abu Dhabi from the United Arab Emirates, which won the 2024 PMI Technology Project Award, and the BioCMPC project from Brazil, the winner of the 2024 PMI Construction/Infrastructure/Engineering Award.
Pertamina, as a leading company in the energy transition, is committed to supporting the Net Zero Emission 2060 target by continuously promoting programs that directly impact the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) achievement. All these efforts align with Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) implementation across all Pertamina's business lines and operations.**
