Jakarta, October 7, 2024 – PT Pertamina (Persero)'s Desa Energi Berdikari (DEB/Independent Energy Village) Program won 1st place at the Indonesia’s SDG Action Awards 2024. The award was presented by Vice President Ma'ruf Amin, accompanied by the Minister of National Development Planning/Bappenas, Suharso Monoarfa, to the President Director of Pertamina, Nicke Widyawati, in Jakarta on Monday (7/10/2024).
Vice President Ma'ruf Amin emphasized the importance of accelerating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) achievement, focusing on developing green industries and sustainable digital innovations.
“SDGs are not just about achieving targets but about creating a fairer and more sustainable future. Therefore, let us move forward with renewed enthusiasm, fresh innovations, and a commitment to bringing about the best and most meaningful change for Indonesia and the world,” said the Vice President.
President Director of Pertamina, Nicke Widyawati, expressed her appreciation to all Pertamina personnel who have successfully implemented the DEB program across various regions in Indonesia.
“This is a journey we have undertaken together. This award is dedicated to all Pertamina personnel. It should serve as an additional motivation to continue establishing independent energy villages throughout Indonesia," said Nicke.
Nicke hopes the SDGs will be integrated into all aspects of Pertamina's business processes, from upstream to downstream.
“This is something we must carefully calculate and monitor. Then, we can set specific targets and achievements across the entire Pertamina Group to have a greater impact, both for Pertamina, Indonesia, and the world,” added Nicke.
The Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Fadjar Djoko Santoso, said that Desa Energi Berdikari is a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program aimed at supporting energy resilience based on renewable energy while also improving the rural economy.
“Pertamina has developed DEB in 85 locations across Indonesia, optimizing renewable energy sources such as solar power, methane gas, biogas, micro-hydro, biodiesel, and hybrid energy from solar and wind,” Fadjar said.
Pertamina, as a leading company in the energy transition, is committed to supporting the Net Zero Emission 2060 target by continuously promoting programs that directly impact the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) achievement. All these efforts align with Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) implementation across all Pertamina's business lines and operations.**
