Jakarta, December 29, 2023 – To ensure energy readiness ahead of the New Year holiday in 2024, Tutuka Ariadji, Director General of Oil and Gas of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, visited the Pertamina Integrated Enterprise Data and Command Center (PIEDCC) at Grha Pertamina on Friday, December 29, 2023. During this visit, Nicke Widyawati, President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero), explained Pertamina's real-time readiness to provide energy, ranging from the stability of upstream oil and gas block production, the reliability of processing refineries to the energy distribution process, especially for fuel and LPG to the Indonesian public.
PIEDCC plays a crucial role in the digital transformation undertaken by the company to ensure the smooth operation of all Pertamina's business processes. It includes monitoring the distribution process and the energy availability supplies during the Christmas and New Year task force period.
Through PIEDCC, Pertamina could monitor the real-time energy availability throughout Indonesia and take prompt action to meet energy needs in case of fuel and LPG consumption spikes or emergencies such as natural disasters.
"During this visit, we saw that Pertamina's digitalization system has advanced compared to before. It's remarkable and immediately useful; the cost evidence is evident. This is an extraordinary achievement," explained Tutuka during his visit.
He explained that at PIEDCC, they can monitor the real-time conditions of Pertamina's business throughout Indonesia, from upstream oil and gas production points, shipping processes, and refining processes in the refinery to distribution through petrol stations. In addition, the system can show the fuel stock at petrol stations, so if there is a petrol station with low or critical stock, Pertamina can take preventive measures by estimating the supply time from the depot to the petrol station.
"This system will be helpful for Pertamina in terms of efficiency. It also automatically helps the Government reduce losses because it is more accurate and can be better controlled," Tutuka said.
Furthermore, Tutuka revealed that during this visit, they ensured the national fuel and LPG stocks’ readiness to meet the public needs, especially during the New Year holiday in 2024. The PIEDCC system reflects the coverage days for fuel and LPG stocks. "Nationally, the coverage is more than enough. What needs to be considered are vulnerable or remote areas; they need attention," Tutuka said.
Nicke Widyawati, President Director of Pertamina, added that digitalization at PIEDCC is an ongoing process. One of its benefits is cost savings for the state budget, especially in supporting the Right Subsidized Fuel program (BBM Subsidi Tepat). Through digitalization, Pertamina can identify vehicles using fake license plates based on data from the Traffic Corps. In the system, unregistered vehicles automatically cannot purchase subsidized Solar fuel.
"By implementing this system, we can ensure that vehicles entitled to use subsidized fuel do so according to their intended purpose. As a result, we can achieve efficiency for Pertamina and savings for the state budget," Nicke explained.
Pertamina, as a leading company in the energy transition, is committed to supporting the Net Zero Emission 2060 target by continuously promoting programs that directly impact the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) achievement. All these efforts align with Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) implementation across all Pertamina's business lines and operations.**
