Jakarta, April 14, 2023 - PT PGN Tbk, as Pertamina’s Gas Subholding, ensures the national natural gas distribution and services remain safe during Eid al-Fitr1444 H in 2023. PGN with PT Pertamina (Persero), Oil and Gas Holding Company, actively maintains natural gas reliability through the Ramadan and Idul Fitri Task Force (Satgas RAFI) 2023 in coordination with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and BPH Migas.
So far, natural gas distribution to customers has been carried out safely in the Sumatera, West Java, Central Java, East Java, Bali, Nusa Tenggara, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, and Eastern Indonesia regions. The natural gas distribution to customers is at a 987 BBTUD volume, while PGN has a supply capacity of 1,029 BBTUD.
PGN distributes gas from 29 Working Areas consisting of 24 KKKS to 2,504 Commercial and Industrial Customers, 1,926 Small Customers, 836,683 Household Connections (SR), and nine Power Plants in the PLN Group. The active infrastructure utilized includes 25,850 km of gas pipeline network, 13 CNG stations, four Metering and Regulating Units (MRU), and three LNG Terminals are maintained safely and reliably.
"During Ramadan and Idul Fitri, PGN ensures that operational activities and natural gas consumers are well served. Demand in some industries may decrease during the Eid holiday. Our task is to continue providing service to active customers," said Faris Aziz, Director of Sales and Operations of PGN, on April 13, 2023.
Faris further explained that activities such as gas transportation, BBG distribution, household and PLN Group gas distribution, LNG storage, and crude oil transportation are being carried out safely.
Gas distribution to the PLN Group for the community’s power resilience is significant, reaching 232 BBTUD. Therefore, it is a primary concern for PGN. Crude oil transportation is at 171,767 BOPD, BBG distribution is at 18,279 LSP (Liter Equivalent to Premium), and gas transportation is at 2,633 MMSCFD. In addition to the South Sumatera West Java (SSWJ) Transmission Pipeline managed by PGN, gas transportation also involves Subsidiaries/Affiliates such as Pertagas, Transportasi Gas Indonesia (TGI), and Kalimantan Jawa Gas (KJG).
On the other hand, the LNG distribution’s security is also carried out by Subsidiaries/Affiliates such as PGN LNG Indonesia (PLI), which manages the FSRU Lampung, Nusantara Regas (NR), and Perta Arun Gas (PAG).
"We also prioritize the service for household gas users, which is currently distributed in 17 provinces and 73 regencies/cities. The number of retail and MSME sectors using CNG is increasing, so we need to be concerned to ensure their gas distribution is not disrupted," added Faris.
Until now, the forecast for natural gas distribution and services of the PGN Group remains safe until after Eid al-Fitr. The Satgas RAFI 2023 team is on standby 24/7 and continues to coordinate solidly to immediately handle potential disruptions. The 24-hour Call Center 135 is also active to be contacted if the public needs help.
