Lombok, October 16, 2023 - The Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2023 has been successfully held. One of the standout achievements was reflected in the revenue or sales results of the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) supported by Pertamina, which reached IDR 689.6 million during the three days of serving visitors at this international racing event, marking a remarkable 53% increase compared to MSME revenues at a similar event last year. In 2022, Pertamina's MSME revenue was IDR 452 million.
Similar to 2022, Pertamina brought 50 fostered MSMEs to the supporting booths of the event. Among these, 42 MSMEs were producers of Indonesian traditional food and beverages, while the other eight offer various crafts, including woven products, bamboo crafts, pearls, traditional Lombok clothing, and unique Sasambo batik motifs from West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).
Nicke Widyawati, President Director of Pertamina Persero, visited several MSME stands at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit in Lombok, NTB. She revealed that Pertamina has been working with these MSMEs to expand their market reach and go global.
"I can see the MSMEs’ readiness, which has been open since Friday (13/10). We are very pleased to bring these curated MSMEs to this event. In addition to expanding the market, they also fulfill the visitor’s needs. We learned from previous events that there are significant demand for food and beverages from the visitors. But there are also unique Lombok crafts," she said.
She hopes that Pertamina can further empower MSMEs in Lombok, enabling these fostered MSMEs to increase their income and diversify their product offerings in the future.
"We hope that Pertamina can further boost MSMEs in Lombok, making Lombok more globally recognized. With future events, these MSME products will also become more diverse, leading to an economic boost for them," she added.
Fadjar Djoko Santoso, Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, stated that Pertamina is committed to continuously empowering local SMEs in Lombok during the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia event. This event increased the income of these MSMEs, as well as for other local business and the broader economy of Lombok.
"The participation of Pertamina's fostered MSMEs nationally, or in general, can increase the income of these MSMEs. It can also boost the regional and national economies. This is also a platform for promoting the region, especially Lombok, to showcase what makes Indonesia unique so that foreign tourists can experience something distinct in Lombok. We hope this will have a higher multiplier effect for the nation in the future so that tourists returning to Lombok can seek the products they have enjoyed," he explained.
One of Pertamina's fostered MSMEs, Kusman Jayadi, expressed his joy in being part of the MSMEs at the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2023. Besides expanding relations, he also experienced an increase in income.
"My product is Seagana Batik Sasambo. Thanks to the Pertamina MotoGP event, many guests from both within and outside the country have come, many of whom have placed orders for merchandise. We are delighted because this event serves as a promotional platform for our products to gain more recognition abroad," he said.
Pertamina, as a leading company in the energy transition, is committed to supporting the Net Zero Emission 2060 target by continuously promoting programs that directly impact the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) achievement. All these efforts align with Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) implementation across all Pertamina's business lines and operations.**
