Bandung, October 10, 2022 – To realize cooperation in the natural gas cylinder technology and infrastructure development supporting 400,000 house connections (SR) in 2022, PGN Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PT Pindad and PT Industri Telekomunikasi Indonesia (INTI), (7/10/2022),
The MoU signing between PT PGN and PT Pindad was carried out by the Director of Infrastructure and Technology of PGN, Achmad Muchtasyar, and the Director of Technology and Development of PT Pindad, Sigit P. Santosa. Meanwhile, the MoU signing with PT Inti was carried out by Larassetyo Wibowo, Director of PGNCOM, and President Director of PT INTI, Edi Witjara.
“PGN's collaboration with PT Pindad and PT Inti is a synergy between SOEs in optimizing domestic products for natural gas supporting infrastructure. With PT Pindad, PGN will develop natural gas distribution mode through CNG and LNG gas cylinders so that natural gas distribution can be more flexible. With PT Inti, we will collaborate in producing smart meters for gas utilization," explained the Director of Infrastructure and Technology of PGN, Achmad Muchtasyar (7/10/22).
With PT Inti, it is expected to increase the digitization implementation in calculating natural gas utilization so that it can be directly connected to the billing system. PT Inti has facilities to produce gas-smart meters with an installed capacity of up to 4,000 units per month and can provide exploration space to increase capacity per month.
"This synergy is important for people to enjoy gas. We support them with smart meters. These are domestic products beginning in their own country. Hopefully, the domestic industry will grow, and we, state-owned enterprises, must play a role in development. TKDN at PT INTI has been more than 40%. Especially for PGN, PT INTI is committed to helping gas downstream," said President Director of PT INTI, Edi Witjara.
The synergy between PGN Group and PT Pindad will also reflect domestic capabilities towards natural gas energy sovereignty with natural gas infrastructure created by the nation's children. Currently, PGN is seeking a breakthrough in distributing natural gas through more movable tubes, namely the Gaslink Cylinder for CNG and VGL tubes distribution for Retail LNG. Variations in tube sizes ranging from 175 L, 110 L, 80 L, 45 L, 30 L, and 15 L will make it easier for PGN to serve the commercial sector.
“PT Pindad is ready to support PGN. Pindad's business derivatives will include CNG gas cylinders, LNG, and other equipment to support natural gas. Pindad welcomes it and hopes that the MoU will be the starting point for the next collaboration. We have to build domestic capabilities. Pindad can do reverse engineering and continue to synergize with SOEs. Hopefully, this collaboration will be useful,” said the Director of Technology and Development of PT Pindad, Sigit P. Santosa.
"PGN is also ready to support gas energy for PT Pindad for the production process and PT Inti in producing ceramics. With the increasing natural gas utilization in the country, it will help reduce imported energy utilization," said Achmad.
PGN, as Pertamina's Gas Subholding, hopes that this cooperation can run well in the future and provide benefits for all parties. The synergy of SOEs can also strengthen the contribution to national energy independence and encourage domestic product utilization.**
