Jakarta, December 24, 2022 - PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS) ensures fuel and LPG (Liquified Petroleum Gas) distribution runs safely and smoothly throughout the 2022 Christmas and 2023 New Year holidays.
Director of Operations of PIS, Brilian Perdana, explained that to support the Nataru Task Force implementation, PIS operates 217 vessels consisting of 165 fuel vessels, 15 aviation fuel vessels, and 37 LPG vessels.
"All PIS officers have a shared responsibility to maintain supply and distribution security, as well as smooth operations as a service to the community. We ensure that fuel and LPG distribution is carried out properly. Therefore, people can remain comfortable in their activities," said Brilian.
Even though PIS has prepared 217 units of ships, PIS is still anticipating additional vessels with a spot charter scheme to secure stocks during the task force period.
Fuel and LPG distribution periodic monitoring is also carried out by optimizing technology, including the EDTP 3.0 application, VCOMS, IPMAN, as well as weather monitoring from BMKG. The digitization monitoring system utilization is also prepared to detect emergencies, fraud detection, and weather forecasts.
Technology for monitoring ships and stock movement is also integrated with the Integrated Enterprise Data & Command Center (IEDCC), an information center for energy distribution starting from Upstream, Refineries, Shipping, and Fuel Terminals to petrol stations owned by PT Pertamina (Persero).
Not only ship readiness, PIS, which now manages six strategic terminals, also ensures smooth supply at ports, bunkers, and depots. For bunkers, PIS maintains timeliness by minimizing waiting periods due to bunkering and at the same time, ensuring the ship bunker's quality.
Operational smoothness at the port is also ensured by intense coordination with government agencies related to immigration, excise, quarantine, and port authorities.
"We monitor the ship's position more intensely. Ships that will supply Fuel Terminal with minimal Coverage Days, we ask the crew to operate the ship at the best safe speed, as well as coordinate with all relevant parties to mitigate and anticipate spikes in demand in any depot if needed,” added Brillian.
