Jakarta, May 23, 2023 - Supporting electric motorcycles (molis) usage acceleration in Indonesia, Pertamina introduces various innovations in providing electric vehicle infrastructure. Several innovations were presented at the Periklindo Electric Vehicle Show (PEVS) 2023, held from May 17-21, 2023, at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta.
Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Fadjar Djoko Santoso, stated that Pertamina continues to support the electric vehicle ecosystem acceleration in Indonesia, following the company's energy transition roadmap.
"Pertamina has provided electric vehicle infrastructure in the form of Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU), Battery Swapping Stations (BSS), and is also collaborating with state-owned enterprises to develop electric batteries through the Indonesia Battery Corporation (IBC) consortium," said Fadjar.
To support molis’ growth, Pertamina, through its Sub Holding Commercial & Trading, has prepared 23 BSS or battery swapping stations for molis at several petrol stations in Jabodetabek and Bali. Moreover, Pertamina has also prepared 6 SPKLU in Jakarta.
Fadjar added that Pertamina supports the government's efforts to accelerate molis utilization through policies that make molis more affordable for the public.
"The acceleration of molis utilization is one of the strategic steps in accelerating the energy transition towards NZE 2060 because it can reduce carbon emissions by up to 50%," said Fadjar.
Abdullah, one of the Gesits molis users, stated that he is interested in using molis because they are more efficient. "Efficiency, minimal engine vibrations, and easy maintenance," said Abdullah.
As a loyal molis user, Abdullah believes molis are more cost-effective and environmentally friendly. "Switching to electric motorcycles helps preserve the environment from pollution," he added.**
