September 6, 2024 – After directly inspecting several stores and small-scale LPG retailers in Surakarta, on Friday, September 6, 2024, the President Director of Pertamina, Nicke Widyawati, confirmed that the company will ensure 3 kg LPG availability in the Surakarta region.
"Today, I directly came to Surakarta and its surroundings after receiving information about disruptions in the 3 kg LPG supply for the public. I checked and visited several small-scale retailers as well as 3 kg LPG agent bases," said Nicke.
According to Nicke, there has been an increase in demand for 3 kg LPG in the Surakarta area over the past three weeks due to Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) growth and the start of the planting season for farmers in the Solo Raya region.
"According to data from the Surakarta City Government, one of the causes is a 15% increase in demand from MSMEs due to the growth of businesses in the area. This is a good sign as it indicates significant economic growth among MSMEs in Solo," Nicke explained.
Nicke added that with the beginning of the planting and dry season, the 3 kg LPG consumption for water pumps in the agricultural sector has also increased.
"Therefore, since August, Pertamina has added 13,600 LPG cylinders as a preventive measure, and we will adjust distribution mechanisms to fulfill the demand," Nicke stated.
Nicke urged the public not to panic-buy, assuring that the 3 kg LPG supply is secure and there will be no reduction in supply.
"Pertamina with the government will continue to ensure that the subsidized 3 kg LPG distribution reaches the rightful recipients," Nicke concluded.
