Jakarta, June 29, 2024 - President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero), Nicke Widyawati, received the R.A Kartini Awards 2024 in the Visionary Leadership in Environmental Sustainability category. The award was organized by the Kartini Heritage Center Foundation in collaboration with Trans Media Group and took place in Jakarta on Friday, June 28, 2024.
The award was accepted by the Vice President of CSR & SMEPP of Pertamina, Fajriyah Usman, on behalf of the President Director of Pertamina, Nicke Widyawati.
"On behalf of the President Director of Pertamina, I would like to convey my gratitude to the RA Kartini Heritage Center Foundation and Transmedia for this award. It is part of our efforts to support the sustainability initiatives of the Indonesian Government. This award is also dedicated to all Pertamina employees who remain committed to making Pertamina a sustainable company. It is a tangible proof of Pertamina's commitment to community empowerment, particularly in environmental conservation, including biodiversity programs, energy-independent villages, and Pertamina forests," she said.
Meanwhile, representing the First Lady, Iriana Joko Widodo, the Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection of the Republic of Indonesia, Bintang Puspayoga, expressed appreciation to all the award recipients. She hoped that the awardees would continue to inspire women in Indonesia.
"Today, we celebrate women’s great contributions and inspiring struggles. The women receiving this award are living proof that the spirit of RA Kartini is still alive. They are our inspiration. Congratulations to the recipients of the RA Kartini Awards; keep creating, keep innovating, and continue to inspire women across the nation," she said.
The Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Fadjar Djoko Santoso, added that currently, about 18 percent of Pertamina's workforce are women, with nearly 20 percent in management positions. This reflects the company's commitment to supporting women's careers, aiming to increase female participation in the overall human resources proportion.
"Pertamina is committed to significantly boosting the role of women in the national energy industry. The target is to have up to 25% of female leaders within the Pertamina Group business scope. With this number, it is expected to enhance the contribution of women in the energy sector," Fadjar concluded.
