Magelang, July 26, 2023 - Pertamina officially unveils the Village Economic Center (Balkondes) Wringinputih’s new face. The inauguration took place during the BalkonFest event at Balkondes Wringinputih, Magelang, on Sunday, July 23, 2023.
Balkondes Wringinputih now showcases a new jengki-inspired architectural concept, providing a refreshing touch to the aesthetic value for the community, reflecting a cleaner and more spacious structure. Previously, Balkondes had a four-sided pyramid design, thatched roof, and bamboo structure, enhancing its charm and uniqueness.
The new face inauguration was symbolically carried out by the Deputy of Human Resources, Technology, and Information of the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises, Tedi Bharata, along with the Director of Human Resources of Pertamina, M. Erry Sugiharto, and Corporate Secretary of Pertamina, Brahmantya S. Poerwadi.
Director of Human Resources of Pertamina, M. Erry Sugiharto, stated that the Balkondes Wringinputih inauguration is the result of excellent collaboration between Wringinputih residents’ and Pertamina, a state-owned enterprise that consistently supports the economic sector and community empowerment through the TJSL program.
"Tonight, we inaugurate Balkondes Wringinputih’s new face. Our joint target is to boost the economic sector by promoting Wringinputih Village through the new appearance of Balkondes Wringinputih, thus increasing tourism visits to Wringinputih Village, especially in Magelang, and supporting the tourism sector around Borobudur Temple," he explained.
Balkondes Wringinputih is part of Pertamina's Tourist Village Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) Program, involving community empowerment to support the tourism sector around Borobudur Temple. It also aligns with Pertamina's support for the government's program that designates Borobudur as one of the Super Priority Tourism Destinations (DPSP).
The new concept launch for Balkondes Wringinputih is a testament to Pertamina's commitment to supporting economic and energy self-reliance for the community. The Balkondes Wringinputih development includes enhancing facilities and infrastructure to support village tourism, providing employment for up to 30 local workers in Wringinputih Village. Pertamina also supports clean energy provision through solar panel utilization to fulfill Balkondes’ electricity needs.
Deputy of Human Resources & Information Technology of the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises, Tedi Bharata, expressed his appreciation for Pertamina. Through the Balkondes initiative, Pertamina has contributed to Wringinputih Village's development into a prominent Balkondes and outstanding village. "Balkondes is one of Pertamina's tangible contributions to Indonesia, and its impact is remarkable. We hope the Wringinputih’s residents will continue to maintain all these programs. Thus, Pertamina's efforts can continue to benefit Wringinputih’s residents and the surrounding areas of Borobudur," he said.
"The presence of Balkondes has been felt by the people, providing accommodation for tourists around Borobudur Temple and creating job opportunities for the locals. Congratulations to Pertamina for the Balkondes renovation in jengki style. We hope it can grow optimally and benefit the surrounding community," said the Assistant for Economic and Development of Magelang Regency, Drs. Sukamtono.
Pertamina's Tourist Village Program development is part of the TJSL (Social and Environmental Responsibility) program and is aimed at empowering communities in sustainable tourism management. To date, the community has developed 794 homestays in various tourist locations in Indonesia, impacting the welfare of more than 5,500 residents.
