Jakarta, August 9, 2023 - PT Pertamina (Persero) once again solidified its position as the only Indonesian company and the only State-Owned Enterprise (SOE) to be included in the Fortune Global 500 list for 2023. This year, Pertamina is ranked #141, rising 82 ranks compared to the 2022 ranking of #223. Notably, Pertamina has surged 146 ranks from its 2021 position of #287.
This rise in ranking aligns with Pertamina's success in achieving its highest net profit ever recorded since its establishment. Pertamina has reported a net profit of USD 3.81 billion or IDR 56.6 trillion, marking an 86% increase compared to 2021's USD 2.05 billion or IDR 29.3 trillion.
Pertamina's revenue has also surged to USD 84.89 billion or approximately IDR 1.262 trillion, marking a 48% increase compared to the previous year's USD 57.5 billion.
President Director of Pertamina, Nicke Widyawati, stated that the company's achievements are the result of a stronger foundation following the Holding Subholding formation's restructuration. This has led to contributions from all business segments to the company. Pertamina is further reinforcing its position as a world-class energy company.
"Pertamina continues to strengthen its commitment to realizing the shareholders’ aspirations of becoming a world-class energy company. These achievements are in line with the company's post-business and organizational transformation targets," said Nicke.
Nicke added that the positive performance of the company is indebted to the support of all stakeholders, including the government, which has supported Pertamina's journey toward becoming a world-class company.
"Thank you to all Pertamina officers as well who have worked hard to enhance the company's competitiveness, enabling us to excel further on the international stage," Nicke added.
Not only does Pertamina stand firm in the global ranking of Fortune 500, but it has also secured the second global position in the Integrated Oil & Gas sub-industry by Sustainalytics, with an ESG score of 22.1 in October 2022, improving from the previous 28.1 scores.
"Pertamina's success in transformation has driven the company to become more agile and adaptive to global business developments. With the stakeholders’ support, Pertamina will continue to innovate its business to achieve national energy resilience, self-reliance, and sovereignty," Nicke stated.
Pertamina, as a leading company in the energy transition, is committed to supporting the Net Zero Emission 2060 target by continuously promoting programs that directly impact the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) achievement. All these efforts align with Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) implementation across all Pertamina's business lines and operations.**
