SOE International Conference & Expo, Ministry of SOE Encourages Pertamina to Continue 8th Energy Transition Strategic Initiatives

Jakarta, October 11, 2022 - Ahead of the SOE Conference International Conference & Expo, the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (Kemen BUMN) encourages Pertamina Group, both Holding and Subholding, to focus on continuing 8th (eight) strategic initiatives to accelerate energy transition.

The eight energy transitions include increasing installed geothermal capacity, developing Green Refinery, commercializing Green Hydrogen, developing an integrated battery and energy storage ecosystem, developing a methanol plant for gasification, increasing generating capacity, developing bioenergy, and Carbon Capture Utilization & Storage. These programs follows the Ministry of SOEs decarbonization program and a support for the Government of the Republic of Indonesia in achieving Net Zero Emissions in 2060.

The SOE International Conference & Expo 2022 is held as the Government's commitment to support the Environment, Social & Government (ESG) and Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs) implementation, particularly in the Healthcare, Financial Inclusion, Digital Transformation, and Energy Transition sectors.

"As an agent of development, SOE must be a forefront for implementing ESG and SDGs to achieve a sustainable development," said Pahala N. Mansury, Deputy Minister of BUMN I in Jakarta (10/10).

In the exhibitions and conferences with the theme "Driving Sustainable & Inclusive Growth", the Ministry of SOEs will facilitate Pertamina Group to conduct talks, meetings and business agreements with investors from various countries to support Pertamina's energy transition projects.

"Pertamina will meet with potential investors who support Green Energy, so that the energy transition project plans can be completed on schedule," Pahala said.

The SOE Conference International & Expo will be attended by more than 500 participants, including the Ministry of SOEs from G20 countries and investors.

This BUMN International Exhibition and Conference will take place in Nusa Dua, Bali, on 17-18 October 2022 as a SOE’s participation ahead of the Government 20 Summit (KTT-G20) November 2022.

Acting Vice President of Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina (Persero), Heppy Wulansari, explained Pertamina Group ensured that it would attend to update information regarding the energy transition project that had begun several years earlier. As one of the SOE entities, Pertamina will be present with the Subholding Refinery & Petrochemical, Subholding Power & NRE and Subholding Upstream in the 2022 SOE International Conference & Exhibition.

“Pertamina Group has worked on various projects as a commitment to accelerate the energy transition. We will present these projects at the SOE event,” Heppy said.**
