This effort is carried out through various means, such as soft and hard skill training and exposure to experiences, including specific learning curricula establishments like the New Venture School. Enhancing competencies is one of the company's concerns for its workforce, following Pertamina's vision as a sustainable company.
Moreover, Salyadi explained that the New Venture School program would encourage employees to create various research and innovations as a step towards developing business acumen to face future business challenges and energy transition.
"Many young Pertamina officers are eager to transform their ideas into useful products or services for Pertamina and Indonesia. In the future, energy transition that can generate ideas and research are crucial in enhancing Pertamina's performance as an oil and gas company, especially in new and renewable energy. The New Venture School is operated by the New Venture Team, which is Pertamina's dedicated incubator team. As an educational platform, the New Venture School will develop soft and hard skills to understand the fundamentals of business innovation development. It is hoped that Pertamina employees can fully grasp their ideas concepts before developing them into new business products. "Through Pertamina New Venture School, Pertamina encourages innovators’ growth and its ecosystem within the Pertamina workforce," said Salyadi.
Fadjar Djoko Santoso, VP of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, revealed that the New Venture School is one of the company's implementations in ESG, including the environmental aspect, through developing employees to innovate and create transitional energy products while reducing carbon emissions. It includes new renewable energy sources development such as solar EV, hydrogen, geothermal energy, and others to support the Net Zero Emission (NZE) program.
Furthermore, through this educational curriculum, Pertamina also focuses on the social aspect, showing the company's concern for employee competency development and equal opportunities. These benefits can be implemented through the company's Corporate Social Responsibility and employee involvement in the community through Social and Environmental Responsibility Programs.
The governance aspect should not be overlooked, namely sustainable business practices implementation through compliance with energy regulations and policies, as well as the employees’ soft skills with AKHLAK culture.
"New Venture School is one comprehensive program aimed at producing not only skilled, competent, and empowered employees but also individuals who uphold governance and embody the company's values," added Fadjar.
