Jakarta, May 24, 2022 – In efforts to continue supporting the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) progress in Indonesia, PT Pertamina Lubricants (PTPL) won the ICSB Presidential Award 2022 given by the Indonesia Council for Small Business (ICSB) as an appreciation of PTPL's contribution on MSMEs development in Indonesia. PTPL is considered to show a significant and relevant contribution to developing MSME's capabilities in Indonesia.
The award was handed by the President of ICSB, Jacky Mussry, and received by The Director of PTPL Finance & Business Support, Catur Dermawan, during the Jakarta Marketing Week 2022 on Friday (25/5) in Jakarta.
"As a subsidiary of SOE, PT Pertamina Lubricants has programs that focus on empowering MSMEs which aims to improve the ability of small businesses to be strong and independent and then increase the welfare of the surrounding community. We support MSMEs' progress in various sectors, such as food and beverage and two-wheel workshop business similar to our business," Catur said.
PTPL provides assistance and guidance to MSME actors in responding to the main challenges of MSME business development in terms of increasing competence, increasing marketing access, and ease of access to capital with targeted programs to be an upgraded MSME
Catur continued that PTPL's efforts to improve the ability of small businesses to be strong and independent were carried out through various CSV (Creating Share Value) programs and community empowerment in tourist villages in the Sales Regions and Lubricant Factory. This program is carried out by channeling capital, training, business assistance, and business development.
One of the programs is the Enduro Student Program (ESP), a program using a CSV approach that aims to create new entrepreneurs in the workshop sector. ESP includes technical and non-technical education and training as well as entrepreneurship, capital, and business assistance in the field of two-wheeled workshops for selected students from various leading Automotive and Engineering Vocational Schools and equivalent high schools.
This program created 62 successful two-wheeled workshop entrepreneurs generating an annual turnover of three billion rupiahs and 113 mechanics as well as workshop owners.
In addition, PTPL continues to foster other workshop businesses managed by the disabled community in Central Java and village youth communities in the 3T (underdeveloped, frontier, outermost) areas.
The Gresik Production Unit also contributes to MSMEs development around factory operations with the support of facilities and infrastructure such as cooking utensils, cake and beverage making equipment packages, hair shaving equipment packages, and agricultural equipment packages. Also providing assistance for making Business Identification Numbers (NIB) for MSMEs such as Kampung Markisa, Kopi Sampah, dan Kampung Kreasi.
The Jakarta Production Unit also provides guidance and provides working capital assistance in the form of cooking utensils, stickers, plastic/bottle product packaging, scales, etc., as well as business development assistance with business licensing and marketing for the Kampung Sirih Sehati program in North Jakarta. Kampung Sirih Sehati is a women's empowerment program through reforestation activities (betel plant cultivation) and the betel processing business development in the South Tugu Sub-District, North Jakarta, with four superior betel-processed products, including Plesir Beer (Beer Pletok Sirih), Bawasir Chips (Onion Betel), and Peyek betel.**
