Jakarta, August 30, 2023 - PT Pertamina (Persero) supports the Indonesian government in the ASEAN-Indo-Pacific Forum (AIPF): Implementation of the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific to showcase a strategic role in green infrastructure development.
As a flagship event closely related to the 43rd ASEAN Summit and the East Asia Summit, the opening of AIPF will be attended by the President of the Republic of Indonesia and the leaders of ASEAN countries. Several Heads of State/Government will also be keynote speakers at the event, which will take place at the Hotel Mulia Jakarta on September 5-6.
Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Fadjar Djoko Santoso, explained that AIPF is an Indonesian initiative as the Chair of ASEAN 2023, serving as a platform for the private and public sectors, including State-Owned Enterprises (SOE), from ASEAN and partners in the Indo-Pacific Region to discuss and create inclusive, collaborative, and concrete business cooperation. There are three focus areas of AIPF, which are green infrastructure and resilient supply chains, digital transformation, and the creative economy, as well as sustainable and innovative financing.
"Pertamina supports the Indonesian government as the Chair of ASEAN 2023 to actively engage in discussions to build partnerships in the Indo-Pacific Region, aiming to strengthen the green infrastructure that the Company has developed. This event will also showcase several achievements from ongoing innovative projects, such as the Geothermal Project, as well as Pertamina's collaborations with other companies in the Indo-Pacific region," said Fadjar.
As an energy SOE, Pertamina, alongside the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises, seizes the AIPF momentum to establish inclusive, collaborative, and concrete business cooperation in building resilient green energy infrastructure and supply chains.
Fadjar added that Pertamina, along with seven other State-Owned Enterprises, will demonstrate the strategic role of SOE and expand investment cooperation on strategic projects for Indonesia's progress, thus reinforcing ASEAN's position as an economic growth center.
"We express our gratitude to the government for providing the opportunity to participate in AIPF 2023, which serves as a chance to expand investment cooperation on strategic energy sector projects," Fadjar conveyed.
