Balikpapan, October 12, 2022 - PT Pertamina (Persero) with the Ministry of SOEs held a Gen Z Talent Activation activity with the theme Building a Stunting-Free Digital Generation. In the series of visits, Pertamina provided solar panel assistance to SMAN 5 Balikpapan at SMAN 5 Balikpapan last Friday (7/10).
The assistance by Pertamina was handed over by the VP of CSR & SMEPP Management, Fajriyah Usman, received by the Principal of SMAN 5 Balikpapan, H.Imam Seger Suja’I, and witnessed by the Special Staff III of the Ministry of SOEs, Arya Mahendra Sinulingga.
VP of CSR & SMEPP Management, Fajriyah Usman, said the assistance is Pertamina's concern to provide environmentally friendly school facilities and support the Green Energy transition by utilizing renewable energy through solar cells in the school environment. Following the 4th Sustainable Development Goal Education and 7th Clean and Affordable Energy, as well as the company's commitment to fulfilling Environmental Social Governance (ESG).
“This program is Pertamina's active role in developing programs based on environmental management and utilizing renewable energy. This solar panel assistance optimizes alternative energy and is expected to be alternative energy for solar power plants that are worthy of being renewable, pollution-free, and environmentally friendly natural energy," Fajriyah said.
The Principal of SMAN 5 Balikpapan, H. Imam Seger Suja'i, appreciated Pertamina. “I feel proud and grateful because the solar panels provided will facilitate teaching and learning activities in schools that will focus on libraries to support digital libraries. This assistance from Pertamina is very helpful. Hopefully, it can develop where the students will study in the library after school until 6 pm. Thus, renewable energy is needed to do their tasks,” Imam said.
Area Manager Comm, Rail & CSR of Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Kalimantan, Susanto August Satria, said that the solar panel assistance provided in the company's Environmental Social Responsibility (TJSL) in supporting the government's commitment to realizing access to clean electrical energy or green energy to achieve Net Zero Emission (NZE) in 2060. "Hopefully, this assistance can be useful for students at SMAN 5 Balikpapan," Satria said.
In this series of activities, there was also Bright Gas & Cooking with Bright Gas safety activation socialization. This Bright Gas activation is given to Bright Gas users, namely residents of the SMAN 5 Balikpapan school to socialize regarding the Bright Gasutilization and maintenance. Including safety guidelines to provide insight into Bright Gas cylinders' use according to the correct procedures so that they will be safe and not experience any leaks that can cause wastage, accidents, and fires.
Cooking competition with Bright Gas for SMA 5 Balikpapan students with the main ingredients of pomfret or tilapia. This event was a forum for students to share their culinary passion with Bright Gas. Participants were divided into five groups consisting of three people, with one teacher and two students. The competition lasts for 60 minutes and is divided into two sessions. Session one was held at 08.00 – 11.00 WITA, and session two was held at 13.00 – 14.30 WITA. The winner received a gift voucher from Pertamina to be used in all Bright Store branches.**
