Cilacap, March 10, 2023 – PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional (KPI) takes part in the Indonesian Occupational Medicine Updates (IOMU) 2023. It is the 15th symposium held by the Indonesian Occupational Medicine Specialists Association (PERDOKI) in Bandung, February 24 – 26, 2023.
The Chairman of IOMU 2023, Dr. Titis Mariyamah, conveyed that IOMU PERDOKI is an annual scientific meeting for Occupational Medicine Specialist doctors, occupational health nurses, epidemiologists, psychologists, ergonomic experts, and social workers. "Besides that, it is also for government agencies, human resource practitioners, occupational health and safety practitioners, and occupational health observers," she said.
With an "Improving Productivity to Recover Together" theme, the event was held offline after almost three years of being held online due to the Covid 19 pandemic. “More than 70 percent of Indonesia's population is of productive age. To become an opportunity that can be utilized optimally, it is important for workers to maintain their health condition and avoid health problems due to work, work accidents, or other health problems," explained Titis.
Senior Analyst III Medical Services of PT KPI, Sari Kusumaninggar, explained that PT KPI realized the importance of employees as assets, as well as energy for the company. "It is undeniable that the oil processing industry carries a high health risk, and we prioritize health protection and increase worker productivity," she said.
It was stated that the worker health implementation within the company always complies with the Labor Law regulations with various adjustments according to needs in the field. "That is what makes our team truly disciplined in implementing various health programs such as health protocols, implementing Daily Check Up, MCU compliance, Wellness Programs, carrying out routine drills, and Medical Emergency Response Preparedness as a preventive measure for fatality illness in all work areas of PT KPIs,” explained Sari.
This symposium discusses various current topics in the occupational health and safety field, such as Medical Check-Up (MCU) data management and analysis, new perspectives on integrated wellness programs in the workplace, work return assessment programs in work incident/accident cases implementation, an integrated approach and handling in mass casualties management, and medical emergencies.
In addition to that related to occupational diseases (PAK) management, communicable and non-communicable diseases in the workplace management, health risk assessment and control in the workplace, supervision, and assessment of ergonomics in the workplace, mental health management, vaccination programs, and work eligibility are aligned with the health program at PT KPI.
With the PT KPI's participation in this symposium, it is hoped that it can provide health program innovations that can improve health status. Therefore, it can increase PT KPI officers' productivity.
