Pekanbaru, March 9, 2023 - PT Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PHR) is taking part in post-earthquake recovery efforts in Cianjur, West Java, by providing drilled wells with clean water for residents. There are four clean water drilled wells provided by PHR, especially for residents affected by the last earthquake.
The manager of Corporate Social Responsibility of PHR, Pinto Budi Bowo Laksono, said that the drilled clean water well construction was a request from residents who had difficulty getting clean water after the earthquake occurred on November 21, 2022. PHR, with SKK Migas and the Geological Agency for Groundwater Center and Environmental Geology of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has built four drilled clean water wells that shelter around 405 households.
"We hope the residents of Cianjur affected by the earthquake get proper clean water, both for cleaning and consumption. Thus, residents can quickly recover from post-disaster trauma," said Pinto on Friday (3/3/2023).
Pinto said the drilled wells were spread across four residential areas. Namely, Cinta Asih Village in Gekbrong District, Mangunkerta Village in Cugenang District, Talaga Village in Cugenang District, and Nagrak Village in Cianjur District. Symbolically, the four clean water drilled wells handover was carried out on January 6, 2023, attended by residents' representatives and the local village head.
"The wells that we built are on residents' land, waqf land, and in the mosque courtyard. Therefore, they can be easily accessed and used by the residents. Hopefully, they can be put to good use by residents," said Pinto.
Pinto added that the clean water drilled wells construction had also received approval from local residents represented by each local village head. Previously, the drilled well construction had passed a survey and verification with experts to obtain clean water fit for consumption.
"The clean water provision is important for the Cianjur people so that they can get up and carry out their activities as before," said Pinto.**
