Alger, June 14, 2022 - PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE), as Pertamina's Upstream Subholding, has work areas spread throughout Indonesia and abroad. The operational activities for overseas work areas are managed by Regional International or PT Pertamina Internasional EP (PIEP). PIEP, through its subsidiary PT Pertamina Algeria EP (PAEP), manages oil and gas fields in Algeria at the MLN, EMK, and OURHOUD locations.
Following the company's vision and mission to carry out operations and portfolio management with high profitability and provide added value for stakeholders to become a world-class company, Pertamina's Upstream Subholding continues to synergize with the company's main stakeholders, one of which is the Indonesian Embassy in Alger.
Pertamina's Upstream Subholding, in synergy with the Indonesian Embassy in Alger, participated in the Alger International Exhibition or Foire Internationale D'Alger (FIA) at the Palais des Expositions SAFEX Alger, June 13 – 17, 2022. The largest annual international trade exhibition in Algeria, was held again after 2 (two) years of vacuum due to the pandemic. FIA 2022 invites domestic and foreign companies participation from various countries, such as the United States, France, Italy, Turkey, Iran, Jordan, Kuwait, Libya, Cuba, South Africa, Tunisia, Spain, Vietnam, and others.
While participating in FIA 2022, the Indonesian pavilion presents the "Indonesia Incorporated" concept by involving SOEs participation in carrying out integrated promotions in the economic, tourism, and cultural sectors. Pertamina's Upstream Subholding introduced Indonesian culture through fostered partners from the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program in the form of Batik Serumpun Berlian of Jambi and Coffee Puntang Wangi of Subang. Local hero of Batik Craft, Tinah, and local hero of Kopi Puntang Wangi, Deni Sofian Dimyati, interacted directly with exhibition visitors who witnessed the batik-making process and tasting Indonesian coffee. The exhibition was opened by the President of Algeria, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, at Safex on Monday (13/06).
The Indonesian Ambassador to Algeria, Chalief Akbar Tjandraningrat, conveyed his hope, "We hope that Indonesia's participation in FIA activities can improve bilateral relations between Indonesia and Algeria in the economic field, especially trade, investment, and tourism, as well as promote Indonesian cultural diversity to the Algerian people," said Chalief.
In the series of activities, the President Director of Upstream Subholding, Budiman Parhusip, said that this kind of exhibition is one of Pertamina's manifestations in introducing the upstream oil and gas business at the international level. "We thank the Indonesian Embassy in Alger for the good cooperation. We will also continue to maintain good relations with stakeholders in the Algerian government to support Pertamina's operational performance in Algeria," said Budiman.
