The 14th Annual Pertamina Innovation Event of 2024 Officially Opened
Jakarta, June 3, 2024 – PT Pertamina (Persero) has commenced its 14th Annual Pertamina Quality (APQ) Awards 2024 with the theme "Innovate Endlessly for Excellent Sustainability." The opening ceremony was virtually conducted by the President Director of Pertamina and board members on June 3, 2024.
The APQ Awards recognize Pertamina’s employees who generate innovations that significantly impact the company.
Nicke Widyawati, President Director of Pertamina, praised the consistency of the APQ Awards, which have been held annually since 2010.
“APQ Awards are valued not just as ideas turned into paper innovations, but their innovations are measured and their impacts calculated,” Nicke explained in her speech at the Pertamina APQ Awards 2024 event.
According to Nicke, several benchmarks are applied through the APQ Awards. Pertamina uses financial metrics, with the cost optimization team further validating innovations to create value.
“The results from cost efficiency, cost avoidance, and revenue enhancement demonstrate how Pertamina is recognized in the Fortune Global 500, becoming the only Indonesian company included in this international ranking. It is one of the financial outcomes,” elaborated Nicke.
Nicke continued, noting another outcome in sustainability, where Pertamina prides itself on leading globally in ESG performance within the oil and gas sub-sector.
“The oil and gas business is typically associated with carbon emissions, but we have reversed this perception by proving that Pertamina’s decarbonization program is advanced and implemented across the entire business chain, gaining global recognition,” Nicke further explained.
At the same event, HR Director of Pertamina, Erry Sugiharto, stated that the APQ Awards recognize Pertamina employees who have created innovative works that positively impact the company, including increased revenue, productivity, cost efficiency, and overall performance.
Erry believes innovation is a key to transformation, providing the energy to create change and solutions to problems and serving as capital to win competition.
“Innovation is crucial. The company always provides a conducive ecosystem and a platform for employees to express their innovative ideas,” Erry explained on June 3, 2024.
Fadjar Djoko Santoso, Vice President of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, added that the APQ Awards have been an annual event since 2010. There are ten categories, and winners will be announced on June 6, 2024, at Grha Pertamina Jakarta.
“Based on the data we have collected, from 4,465 participants in 2023, 156 top programs from various entities were selected, with value creation reaching approximately 48 trillion (unaudited),” Fadjar explained.
