Jakarta, March 4, 2023 - Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, K.H. Ma'ruf Amin, with PT Pertamina (Persero), handed over assistance of IDR 1 billion to residents affected by the incident at the Plumpang Fuel Terminal, Jakarta, Saturday, March 4, 2023. The assistance was symbolically handed over to Rawa Badak Selatan Village Head, Suhaena.
This assistance distributed by Pertamina includes logistics, medicines, sleeping equipment, fast food, and health services for the community.
The Vice President hopes that this assistance can ease the burden on residents who are in evacuation posts. He hopes residents will be given fortitude and strength in facing this test. Before closing his visit, the Vice President also led a prayer together.
The Minister of SOE, Erick Thohir, who was also present at the location, appreciated Pertamina's quick assistance, "Pertamina intervened, and I observed all the evidence. Today we are focused not only on treatment but also on evacuation. It is what we have to do together. The first one is victims. We are focusing on the short term," said Erick.
Apart from logistical assistance, Pertamina opened a public kitchen at the Rasela RPTRA evacuation post. Moreover, Pertamina provides operational assistance for other public kitchens at PMI Post locations and Command Posts in the North Tugu Village by providing supplies of Bright Gas LPG cylinders.
All of these assistances were given to residents in 3 RT and RW areas around the Plumpang location. The assistance was received by more than 650 residents.
President Director of Pertamina, Nicke Widyawati, said that Pertamina officers also went to the location to assist residents, "Pertamina volunteers came down to help residents at the evacuation post location as a form of concern," she said.
The entire Pertamina team will work hand in hand to help victims and affected residents, as well as work with related officials to ensure that assistance can be distributed evenly.**
