Jakarta, May 26, 2023 – PT Pertamina (Persero) once again held the Annual Pertamina Quality Award (APQA) 2023, an internal event aimed at capturing innovations from the Pertamina Group's officers. 154 outstanding papers from this year's APQA program have proven capable of creating a value of IDR 12.02 trillion.
Salyadi Saputra, Director of Strategy, Portfolio, and Business Development at Pertamina, revealed during the APQA opening in Jakarta this week that Pertamina continues to support a sustainable innovation culture's growth. APQA, which has been running regularly since 2010, is one of the efforts to safeguard Pertamina's business from various challenges and disruptions through various proposed ideas and innovations.
"Through 'APQA 2023: Embracing Change, Leap the Challenge' theme, it showcases Pertamina officers' spirit in carrying out continuous innovative activities," he explained.
Initially, APQA 2023 attracted 2,562 papers from the Continuous Improvement Program (CIP). After undergoing verification and testing by expert teams, these papers were narrowed down to 154 outstanding programs across six categories.
The APQA judging period ended today, Friday (5/26), marked by the Closing and Award Ceremony. Six awards were presented by the Director of Finance of Pertamina, Emma Sri Martini, accompanied by the Director of Human Resources of Pertamina, M. Erry Sugiharto.
"We hope that the innovation spirit built can continue and be sustained and that the ideas and innovative products created can be implemented continuously," expressed Erry.

The Director of HR & Business Support of PHE, Oto Gurnita, expressed gratitude for Upstream Subholding’s achievements, which won five out of six awards. "We continue to encourage our officers to make innovation a culture, a daily culture within their tasks," concluded Oto.
VP of Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Fadjar Djoko Santoso, added that outstanding APQA programs often receive international recognition. For instance, the Cucuba program recently became a Gold Winner at the 34th International Invention, Innovation, and Technology Exhibition 2023 (Malaysia). Cucuba successfully created Marine Fuel Oil Low Sulphur (MFO LS) with the best sulfur content value in its class.
"The results of APQA have proven to contribute to the company's financial performance through value creation, both in terms of operational improvement and cost efficiency," he explained.
