Seven Student Start-Ups Get Business Matching With Investors
Jakarta, December 9, 2022 - Three start-up teams, Cody Kit from the Institut Teknologi Bandung, Taman School from Universitas Indonesia, and Gepo Energy from Universitas Gadjah Mada, finally managed to beat the other finalists in the Pertamuda Seed and Scale 2022, student business idea competition by PT Pertamina Persero, Thursday (8/12).
Previously the Top Three struggled through various stages to eliminate 2,445 start-ups participating in Pertamuda Seed and Scale 2022 from 386 public and private universities in Indonesia.
In the final stage, the Top Three competed in presentations to the juries with other finalists, Tirtanex dan Kawan Bantu from Universitas Brawijaya, Goerami from Institut Pertanian Bogor, GID from Universitas Padjadjaran, Panoptes Insight from the Politeknik Elektronika Negeri Surabaya, and Foodie Well from the Universitas Indonesia.
After qualifying as Top Three, the three teams had the opportunity to receive IDR 300 million in coaching funds given by Daniel S. Purba, SVP of Strategy & Investment of SPPU Directorate representing the President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero), Nicke Widyawati on the awarding night.
Besides the Top Three, others will receive coaching funds. PT Pertamina (Persero) also delivers assistance funds to campuses or the best three companion business incubators worth IDR 25 million.
“Coaching fund is not the end goal of this competition. Regardless of winning, the finalists' struggle in building the business to this point has been validated. Pertamuda tries to bring in other stakeholders who can help business growth after this competition," said Heppy Wulansari, Acting Vice President of Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina (Persero).
After determining the Top Three, the 2022 Pertamuda Seed and Scale series will close with mentoring for the top 10. They will receive strict mentoring, one-on-one from PT Pertamina (Persero) appointed mentors. Mentoring will run for three months from January 2023 to strengthen students entering the business world.
In this year's final round, PT Pertamina (Persero) invited the top 30 Pertamuda Seed and Scale 2022 participants to hold an expo at the same location. They are facilitated to showcase their products and business ideas.
PT Pertamina (Persero) invited 17 investors from SOE and the private sector to interact with Pertamuda Seed and Scale participants. The goal is that these potential investors can support the start-up business's development graduated from Pertamuda Seed and Scale.
