West Sumatra Governor Supports Accurate Subsidy Registration Program for Pertalite

Padang, August 2, 2024 - The West Sumatra Governor, Mahyeldi Ansharullah, urges residents to immediately register their vehicles to obtain a QR Code for users of four-wheel vehicles using Pertalite fuel.

"For the people of West Sumatra, please register your four-wheel vehicles using Pertalite fuel so that fuel subsidies are better targeted. This program protects those entitled to receive subsidized fuel products," said Mahyeldi during a visit to the Accurate Subsidy Registration Post at Mata Air Gas Station on Thursday (August 1).

He emphasized this to support the government's program of distributing subsidized fuel to the rightful recipients.

"Let us ensure that Pertalite subsidies are accurately targeted to the eligible people in West Sumatra," Mahyeldi added.

Freddy Anwar, Executive General Manager of Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional North Sumatra (Sumbagut), who accompanied the West Sumatra Governor, mentioned that following the successful implementation of the QR Code Biosolar program, the Pertalite QR Code program has now started.

"Currently, the number of registered four-wheel vehicles for the Accurate Pertalite Subsidy Program has reached around 127,000 in West Sumatra. Residents can register online, and if there are any issues, they can contact our call center (135) or visit the helpdesk at the available petrol stations," Freddy said.

He noted that this progress will continue to increase as the Pertalite QR Code data collection expands gradually.

"At this stage, we are in the socialization and registration phase. Vehicle registration for the Pertalite QR Code service has been ongoing since July 2024 in West Sumatra. Additionally, the number of transactions registered from January to July 31, 2024, has reached approximately 2,000,000," he added.

Freddy explained that the Accurate Pertalite Subsidy Program applies to four-wheel vehicles. Two-wheel and three-wheel vehicles are not included in this program. The registration mechanism is similar to the QR Code implementation for Subsidized Solar.

"Similar to the successful story of the accurate solar subsidy registration, the public can register through the website subsiditepat.mypertamina.id or the MyPertamina mobile app. If there are any difficulties, Pertamina Patra Niaga Sumbar has also set up a QR Code registration helpdesk at petrol stations," Freddy explained.

Freddy further mentioned that the current process involves socialization and registration. The Accurate Pertalite Subsidy Program aims to protect eligible consumers. Support from the West Sumatra Provincial Government demonstrates the local government's commitment to overseeing and ensuring the success of the Accurate Subsidy Program, ensuring that subsidized fuel distribution is targeted appropriately.

"With accurate data on subsidized fuel users, the local government can allocate subsidized fuel distribution more precisely," he added.

Fadjar Djoko Santoso, Vice President of Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina (Persero), added that the QR Code policy is an effort to ensure accurate targeting of subsidies. "We appreciate the support from various stakeholders, especially the local government, as maintaining fuel quotas is in the interest of all community elements. We hope that with the QR Code policy, subsidized fuel usage can be managed more precisely," Fadjar explained.

The public and Pertamina's loyal customers who need information about Pertamina products can access the MyPertamina website and use the Pertamina Call Center at 135.
