Jakarta, October 25, 2022 – Pertamina’s fostered MSMEs proved their excellence by recording total sales of up to IDR 35 billion at the Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) by the Ministry of Trade on 19-23 October 2022 at ICE BSD.
Until the last day of TEI 2022, 50 Pertamina MSME booths received a positive response and were visited by many potential buyers, especially foreign buyers. The total transactions at Pertamina's MSME booth reached IDR 35 billion or an increase of up to 500% compared to the 2019 TEI event with an IDR 7 billion value transaction.
VP of CSR & SMEPP of Pertamina, Fajriyah Usman, revealed that the value transaction came almost entirely from foreign buyers intending to export to South Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Portugal, Canada, Jamaica, Spain, and Norway. It is predicted that transactions will grow following the trade contracts realization from buyers who negotiated with Pertamina foster SMEs.
"Pertamina fully supported MSMEs. In addition to being included in international trade fairs to increase competitiveness, Pertamina also ensures that Pertamina's Fostered MSMEs’ superior products can reach the global market through collaboration with several export hub institutions,” Fajriyah said.
One of the collaborations that can be utilized is through PT Andalan Export Indonesia (AEXI) with Fastlane Group International from Malaysia. Through TEI, the Indonesian Trade Attaché in Canberra, Australia, specifically provided direct support for Pertamina foster MSMEs to be confident to export to foreign countries.
Food and beverage is one of the products in demand by retail and wholesaler, such as the jackfruit chips produced by NN International, which receives 60 tons orders/year to Saudi Arabia, 30 tons to Turkey, and 2 tons to Norway, receiving total transactions up to IDR 17 billion.
“10 tons will be sent at the end of November to Turkey and Norway. Thus, after the exhibition is over, I will immediately start the production process,” said Nurchaeti, owner of NN International.
NN International is a Pertamina foster MSME that produces healthy snack products by empowering women and people with disabilities in the production process.
“This is my first time participating in the exhibition after two years of the pandemic. Good luck to all MSME friends. We can definitely rise after the slump due to the pandemic,” she added.
Meanwhile, Mbah Hardjo Food, an MSME that sells ready-to-eat canned food also received orders worth IDR 11 billion. The products attract many buyers because they are practical and do not require a cooking process. Thus, they can be consumed directly.
"There are buyers who ask for white tuna samples in cans, which are currently in production. Thus, it can be shipped immediately," said the owner of Mbah Hardjo Food, Bambang, while recording the orders that came one after another.
Pertamina's fostered partners present at the Trade Expo Indonesia 2022 are curated with goods suitable for export. During the exhibition, Fostered Partners also gained knowledge through export talk shows ranging from understanding global digital marketing and determining the export products selling price to preparing and managing export documents, which were held twice a day.
196 Pertamina fostered MSMEs have registered since July 2022 until 50 MSMEs were selected from various cities in Indonesia, including Jakarta, Tangerang, Bali, Yogyakarta, West Java, Central Java, East Java, Central Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, South Sulawesi, Ternate, North Sumatra, and Riau.
