Green Energy Building

As a world-class energy company, Pertamina has been campaigning for a green concept, so as to be widely implemented on the operation of its refineries and other business activities but also in its building design. By bringing the green building concept, the Company carries the spirit of energy efficiency and sustainable operations according to the corporate vision and mission. Such commitment is realized with of which on the design of the building of Head Office of Pertamina Refinery Unit (RU) IV Cilacap located on Jalan MT Haryono 77, Lomanis, Cilacap, Central Java.

The building which occupies a 7,257-sqm area applies solar cell technology for the lighting. Solar Cell or Photovoltaic technology is installed on rooftop of the building with capacity of 200 watt per cell and total capacity of 80 kWp (kilowatt peak), thus the total making installed renewable energy capacity reach to 24,090 kilowatt hour (kWh) per year.

Besides, Pertamina also promotes water efficiency through implementation of water fixture whose capacity is still below the maximum capacity standard of water output in order to save more water. Recycled water produced from grey water recovery is used for watering plants at the outdoor garden, toilet flush, spraying parking lane, and hydrant water. The Company also conducts the rainwater harvesting. Rainwater harvesting is believed to be able to save 70% of drinking water consumption.

Then, in term of environmental protection, Head Office of Pertamina RU IV applies sustainable materials for its construction. Materials used from recycling process include using reinforced concrete in the construction. Then to reduce building temperature, the Company launches replantation and conservation, by planting trees, bushes and grass.

For all energy efficiency efforts, Pertamina RU IV was awarded Subroto Award 2019 for category of National Energy Efficiency.
